Have been trying to get list of hosts in Australia. I go to home page. (Have been trying for last couple hours) map of Australia is on screen but column on right has USA, so choose Autralia then Sydney, NSW, push the list button, list shows up about every 8/9th time. At top of map page in red says "this form has become outdated, copy any unsaved work in form below ( can find no form below) then in green says-reload this page. Do that then a little box shows up: http://. www.warnshowers.org. An Jax error has occurred. Result code: 200 Debugging information follows. Path: http://www.warmshowers.org/systems/Ajax. Status text: OK. Response text: Last sentence says OK. Sometimes when pushing the Austrlia button it will say "wait". Then the little box shows up.

Trouble getting host list
Thanks so much, Victoria, we'll try to recreate this.
Victoria, could you please watch this screencast quickly? http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/co62fahViw
It shows what I tried to do to recreate the problem you were having. It seemed to work for me, but that probably means I don't understand you yet.
But she is talking about clicking 'List' not 'Map' - this happens to me also.
First of all switching countries on the drop down brings up this error:

Then the city database does not change from Australia:

The error referred to above:

Sorry, the first link shoud be this:

It doesn't sound like exactly the same thing, but I sure appreciate your screenshots Paul. Could you try it on a different computer or browser to see if the behavior is the same? What browser are you using?
Two of the errors (the first and third links) are exactly the same as what Victoria describes. This is on Firefox 41 on Arch linux. I just tried it on Surf (a suckless Webkit based browser) and didn't have any errors.
I just logged out of WS then restarted Firefox and logged in again and I'm no longer getting the errors.
One more time Victoria - Please check my new screencast using the "list" button, http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/co62fNhVim
Could you try on a different browser or a different computer to see what happens?
Please make sure you're doing this at https://www.warmshowers.org (not http, not https://warmshowers.org, etc.)
BTW, you can't do email replies to forum post notifications - maybe someday we'll be able to do that.
Please let me know the type of computer and the version number of the Safari browser you're using.
Thanks,
-Randy
Thanks so much for the good information. I've opened an issue for this, https://github.com/warmshowers/Warmshowers.org/issues/887
Just a couple of other things - I'm not sure if they're already known about and being worked on so I haven't started a new topic;
- Searching in the forums tends to bring up very few results, in fact generally zero on the first attempt (the search string appears in the box along with 'type=forum' )
eg: search for 'beer': http://i.imgur.com/FNhdabt.png
removing this obtains some results but far fewer than expected:
http://i.imgur.com/9JVMQzx.png
-There doesn't appear to be a way to edit forum posts as yet
-The post history of a user only seems to show posts after the upgrade ( I know its not an official feature but I use it a lot to post links to threads when the same questions are asked over and over on the forums).
eg: https://www.warmshowers.org/user/9938/track
-Other assorted odd behaviour such as for example this post which has 2 replies:
http://i.imgur.com/NHsjOG6.png
but when clicked on, only the original post can be seen:
https://www.warmshowers.org/node/118983
Anyway, congrats on the upgrade, the site is looking great.
Thanks Paul! Please open a new topic for new things though - I almost missed this.
Content Searching is broken, but high priority to fix.
You should be able to edit your own forum topics, the "Edit" button is below (see picture).
I'm betting that the track feature doesn't work because indexing isn't working yet.
I find the count on forums strange as well. Probably won't spend much time on it though.
Thanks for the good wishes, and as always thanks for your curation of the forums!
You can see all new issues (including the one that started this thread) at https://github.com/warmshowers/Warmshowers.org/issues
I may be suffering from selective blindness but I still can't find the edit button - I can see 'Reply' and 'Top' but no edit.
Here's what the edit link looks like on a forum node. This was a node created by an unprivileged test user.
You were probably talking about editing your own *comment followups* though. I added that privilege, so I'll bet you see it now
Yep, now I can , thanks.
Content searching is working again, as the index has been rebuilt.
It's working fine, but the track feature still only shows post Drupal upgrade content:
https://www.warmshowers.org/user/9938/track
Is a fix for that that still a possibility?
The track feature appears to be getting rebuilt incrementally, so should be there within a few days. Thanks!
OK, thanks.
Thanks so much for the great comment about forum counts. It turned out that you could see the comments on that item (https://www.warmshowers.org/node/118983) if you viewed the site in French, since it had its language set to French. I have updated the 2466 forum entries that had a language set and updated them to "Language Neutral" and that fixed a number of things.
I guesss that would be why all these blast from the past forum topics have suddenly resurfaced on the active topics tab.
Ah, unintended consequences.
