What is meant by the "Sag" entry?

Yes, I do know what a sag wagon is, but just what would I be offering by checking that entry in my profile?

You're not offering anything you don't want to :-)

Everything you might or might not offer is a discussion with your guests. We all know that even if you sometimes might be able to give somebody a ride, it won't be always. And you probably can't do full support for them for the next two weeks of their tour.

The checkboxes are just general ideas. Write in the "about me" more specific information.

We took the line that "most of the time" we should be able to provide a "bail out option".
After all the Sag Wagon is where you end up when things go wrong and you cant ride anymore....!!
We have driven out and picked up a couple of riders who have had mechanical problems, and have also given a few a bit of a head start....dropping them off several days (bu bike) down the track, after they have had luggage or illness problems and been behind schedule. When your in a foreign country and have international flights to link up with at the end of the ride.....starting days behind schedule isnt a good option...!!

I have usually told riders when they first contact us that we will be able to bail them out within a days drive or so of our house (1500 KM away or thereabouts) but that it may take a day or so to get there depending on work commitments. The nearest big city (POP 1600)to the West of us would be around 1580 KM.

Obviously not quite the same

Obviously not quite the same speed limits we have here in the USA ;-) 1500 km here would be more like a day and a half for most of us. Very generous of you indeed! Thanks to all for the clarifications. I was not really coming up with a scenario that made sense to me before. I can now cheerfully check the Sag entry and wait for someone to need me.
